New pavers, entry walls part of Heritage Park’s east side makeover

Foley, Ala. – (OBA) – A new walkway featuring columns and canopy lighting will connect the Foley pedestrian bridge to City Hall and other key downtown areas. The plans for the project include a pathway through Heritage Park, extending along the new section of East Jessamine Street, and linking the park and street to North Cypress Street. The Foley City Council has approved these improvements to Heritage Park.

Mayor Ralph Hellmich stated that the project is part of ongoing efforts to enhance downtown as a space for walking and recreation.

“We will tie it into the Jessamine Avenue project that is going to bid,” Hellmich said. “That will repave East Jasmine Avenue. It will have sidewalks, and it will tie in City Hall all the way over to the middle school. It will also upgrade our Heritage Park with new electrical connections, lighting, including lights in the trees.”…
