Reno, NV – An early-season winter storm is expected to hit Northern Nevada on Sunday, bringing gusty winds, valley rain, and mountain snow through Tuesday. Officials urge residents to prepare for dangerous conditions, with widespread southwest winds of 25 to 35 mph expected, and gusts reaching up to 80 mph in certain areas.

According to the National Weather Service, valley rain will begin in northeast California and northwest Nevada on Sunday afternoon. Snow levels could drop as low as 5,500 feet by Monday night. The Lake Tahoe region is likely to experience heavy snowfall, potentially accumulating over a foot at higher elevations.
