Three Unanswered Sees Women’s Soccer Fall to League-Leading Scranton

SELINSGROVE, PA – Susquehanna women’s soccer dropped their final home conference game of the 2024 season on Saturday, falling 3-0 to sixteenth-ranked Scranton behind early goals in both halves.

The Royals took the lead in the third minute when Niamh Healy scored in the second phase of a corner kick. A big chance came and went for the River Hawks to equalize in the seventh minute, with Sydney Williams seeing a shot blocked after a good counter-attack and hold up play from Rachel Rinehart. However, that was the River Hawks’ only shot in the first half, while Scranton managed 11.

It took just two minutes into the second period for Scranton to add to their lead, with Samantha Goffice scoring in the 47th minute. They added a third in the 64th minute through Jenna Borelli, who scored on the rebound after a shot was parried away by Katie Henchy in the Susquehanna goal…
