EU’s Michel urges probe into alleged Georgia vote irregularities

European Council President Charles Michel has urged the authorities in Georgia to investigate allegations of voting irregularities in the country’s parliamentary election.

“Following the parliamentary elections in Georgia, I intend to put Georgia on the agenda of the informal #EUCO (European Council) in Budapest,” Michel wrote on X on Sunday evening.

“We call on the Central Election Commission and other relevant authorities to fulfil their duty to swiftly, transparently and independently investigate and adjudicate electoral irregularities and allegations thereof,” he added…
