PHILLIPSBURG, NJ – On October 26, 2024, the Firth Youth Center proudly hosted the return of the Punt, Pass, and Kick Competition at the Firth Youth Center.
You read that right in the headline, this lineup of boys and girls first place finishers are going to punt, pass and kick against the Easton Red Rovers during the Powderpuff game! Let’s go Liners!
Exceeding last year’s total of 81 children in the first year, 90+ pre-registered aged 9-13, hailing from Phillipsburg and its neighboring districts, to participate in the Punt, Pass, and Kick experience. We even met some Easton Rovers who crossed the bridge, but tsk tsk, this competition is for the Garnet and Gray team and future Stateliners.
Beyond learning the fundamentals of punting, passing, and kicking, the highlight for many was the fiercely competitive 40-yard dash. In fact, some adults took a test drive of the dash for friendly competitive fun. Largely bragging rights and competition among friends. Perhaps they didn’t see we captured that action too…
