One of the bigger local high school sporting events made its annual return on Saturday as the 42nd edition of the News-Herald Volleyball Invitational took place at Lincoln Park High School.
Nearly 20 schools, almost of all which hailed from the Downriver and Dearborn regions, competed in series of pool play matches before shifting to single-elimination bracket play to conclude the day.
