Person injured after jumping out of burning building in Los Angeles

A person was injured after they jumped from a burning building in L.A.’s Westlake neighborhood Sunday morning.

According to a Los Angeles Fire Department alert , the fire broke out at a “mixed garden-style” apartment building with a center hall layout just before 11:30 a.m.

The four-story building, located at 140 South Reno Street near Beverly Boulevard, was well-involved with heavy smoke showing from the roof when crews arrived, LAFD originally stated .

Video posted to the Citizen App shows a thick plume of smoke rising from the structure as concerned onlookers began gathering in the street. Firefighters were seen fighting the fire – which appeared to have started in a second-floor hallway – through the roof.
