Saturday Roundup | Field, Rootstown boys soccer capture district championships

Five district championships took place Saturday involving Portage County teams. Here’s a quick look at what occurred:

Boys Soccer

Field 2, Cardinal Mooney 1 (OT)

The Falcons won their first district championship in program history thanks to an overtime game-winner from Cohen Allen.

Cedric Martin scored the other goal for Field (16-2-2), off an assist from Wyatt Rahe, while Caleb Brastine made eight saves in net.

The second-seeded Falcons will next travel to Ravenna to face No. 7 Poland Seminary — which dominated its district championship game against Chagrin Falls.— in a Wednesday regional semifinal.

Rootstown 1, Smithville 0
