RENFRO VALLEY, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — It’s been a long road to induction for the “King of the Honky Tonks.”
On Saturday, 12 Kentuckians’ names were permanently etched into history at Kentucky’s Country Music Capital.

Now their careers and contributions are displayed beside legends such as Kieth Whitley, Loretta Lynn, and Bill Monroe. Each item featured in the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame’s newest exhibits was hand-picked by the inductees and their loved ones.
“This is one of my favorite pictures of my dad. you’ll notice that behind the cross is a mushroom. And that was given to him by, Gregg Allman and the Allman Brothers Band. And that meant a lot to my father,” Shannon Stewart, Gary Stewart’s daughter said.
Inductees said that becoming a hall of fame is a goal they’ve been working toward their whole lives…
