Men’s Rugby: Janda, Edwards Power Cadets Over RiverHawks with Dominant Second Half

LOWELL, Mass.- The Norwich Men’s Rugby team rounded out their regular season with a trip to UMass Lowell Saturday afternoon, where the floodgates would open in the second half.

The match was a defensive struggle in the early going, with neither team able to break through in the first 25 minutes. Eventually, Dumisani Janda would break through for the Cadets for the first of his three tries as he ran down the outside channel. Will Moulton and Marius Edwards would also reach the scoresheet, both tries that were converted, giving Norwich a 19-point lead at the half.

In the opening minute of the second half, Edwards had a strong 70-meter run, breaking five tackles to score another try, setting the tone for the rest of the way. Janda would score his second and third tries, before Jeff Pappalardo joined in on the fun. A third try by Edwards, and a penalty kick by Kris Wayton would push the final score to 53-3…
