On the Princeton Agenda: Hinds Plaza’s Proposed Face Lift Revealed

Princeton, NJ – Fans of Hinds Plaza are in for a treat – or maybe a trick – when the Arterial Inc. consultants present their preliminary vision of how to spiff up the popular public space adjacent to the main entrance of the Public Library. Arterial is on the Council agenda for Monday, October 28, at 7 p.m. – meeting details in the listings below.

The treat might be the proposed concept of incorporating the Witherspoon Street sidewalk into the design of the plaza. As it appears in the architectural renderings included in the Council’s agenda packet, that idea essentially makes the plaza bigger – more of an already good thing.

As the concept appears in the renderings, the hedges and bike racks now serving to separate the plaza from the sidewalk would be redesigned and shifted to the edge of the curb along Witherspoon, separating the sidewalk and plaza from the traffic…
