Ohio State’s Week 8 loss at Oregon was supposed to be a wake-up call for the Buckeyes. With a week off to regroup and repair, the expectation was that the Scarlet and Gray would come out on Saturday an “angry” team, looking to reestablish themselves as one of the best teams in the country.

These expectations were not met. Ohio State defeated Nebraska 21-17 on Saturday afternoon, but it was far from a convincing performance. Following a week of talk about the defensive struggles, it was the offense that had its issues against the Cornhuskers, managing a season-low 285 total yards. The defense did its part, keeping the Cornhuskers in checking, holding them to 273 total yards.

After a muffed kickoff and a three-and-out, the Buckeyes had the opportunity for a fast start, but the offense sputtered out of the gates. The Scarlet and Gray turned the ball over on downs and punted on their first two drives of the game before finding the endzone on back-to-back possessions. A missed field goal and two long Nebraska drives led to a 14-6 halftime lead…
