Drug ring based out of Memphis nightclub leads deputies to 24 kilos of cocaine

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The bust of a drug organization that operated out of a Memphis nightclub led deputies to fentanyl, marijuana, and 24 kilos of cocaine, according to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO).

SCSO Chief Deputy Anthony Buckner said the investigation began in February 2023. On October 28, 2024, Buckner announced 16 arrests in the case.

The drug organization mainly operated out of Club Insight on East McLemore Avenue in South Memphis, Buckner said. The chief deputy said that there’s where the organization set up a “home base.” But, as deputies followed the organization, SCSO realized that the drug ring spread throughout Shelby County.
