Victim identified in Bella Vista Halloween party mass shooting

SHASTA COUNTY, Calif. — The Shasta County Coroner’s Office has positively identified the person killed in a mass shooting at a Halloween Party in Bella Vista over the weekend.

According to the coroner’s office, the victim has been positively identified as Drake Myles Alfaro, 18, of Redding, Calif. They said next of kin has been notified and a postmortem examination will be scheduled.

The shooting occurred at a Halloween Party at a home in the 2100 block of Highway 299 East in Bella Vista at around 1 a.m. on Sunday morning, Oct. 27. According to the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO), deputies and officers with the Redding and Anderson police departments found Alfaro dead at the location, with five other adult victims injured with gunshot-related injuries. The five adults were transported to a local hospital for treatment, according to police.
