‘Treat us fairly’: DCPS food service workers asking for better pay amid contract negotiations

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Food service workers with Duval County schools are asking for better pay and benefits after months of negotiations with their employer, Chartwells K12.

The American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees Local Union 2941, which represents hundreds of food service workers in Duval County, held a press conference outside of Chartwells’ Jacksonville office Monday afternoon. Annette Taylor is the Vice President of Local 2941 and has been a food service worker in Duval County for over 30 years.
