PALMETTO, Fla. (WWSB) -The executive Director of the Bradenton Area Convention & Visitors Bureau says that a ride to and from work maybe something simple but can help so many.
Elliott Falcione said Monday that beginning on November 1 the popular Gulf Islands Ferry service will resume, but it will only transport both residents and employees who work on, Anna Maria Island, or surrounding barrier Islands.
Falcione added those people will have to will have to register with the Gulf Islands Ferry service to receive free trips as repair and recovery continues. “So many of the people lost transportation during the height of hurricane Milton it’s a way to give back,” Falcione said on Monday.
Meanwhile, the two 40-foot catamarans that will transport workers and residents back-and-forth to the islands will be stopping at a new temporary floating pier, after a large portion of the Historic Anna Maria Pier collapsed during the height of the storm surge…
