No California cities land on list of best U.S. places for veteran entrepreneurs; NC ranked top spot

The PenFed Foundation’s latest study on the best U.S. cities for veteran entrepreneurs reveals a surprising absence of California cities from the top ranks. According to the 2024 list, Raleigh, NC, once again claimed the number one spot, with Washington, D.C., and Seattle close behind. The study, in collaboration with Edelman Data and Intelligence, evaluated cities based on livability, economic growth, veteran support, and business startup conditions. Despite California’s large veteran population and its economic influence, no cities in the state made the top 20 for veteran business prospects, highlighting a possible gap in support and resources for veteran entrepreneurs in the state.
