Demolition starts at former Regency Inn site in Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) – The former Regency Inn on O. Henry Boulevard has sparked debate among Greensboro city leaders for years.

The site has been passed back and forth. Now, it officially belongs to the City of Greensboro. On Monday, they started demolition.

It might not look like too much at the site, but after years of waiting, the movement of machines is a huge step forward. For years, it has been a problem spot, and the buildings getting knocked down is the first step to new life in the neighborhood…
