Man injured in box cutter attack in downtown Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man was arrested after attacking a person with a box cutter Monday evening in downtown Nashville, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.

Officers responded to 1st Avenue North and Gay Street just after 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 28, where two victims alleged that Joseph Haggard, 27, pulled a knife on them.

According to officials, Haggard had reportedly assaulted a woman just moments before he pulled the knife. When another man physically fought him in retaliation, Haggard reportedly used the knife to wound him in the chest and the side of his head. The female assault victim was no longer on the scene when officers arrived.
