Lt. Gov Jaqueline Coleman visits Bowling Green to discuss Amendment 2

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Lt. Gov. Jacqueline Coleman was in Bowling Green Tuesday, and one stop she made was at the local UAW to discuss her concerns for Kentucky Amendment 2.

Surrounded by those opposed to the amendment, concern was shared not just by her but also others running for public office. Coleman, however, says that the funding mechanism for Amendment 2 is the biggest issue, leaving taxpayers on the hook for unchecked spending.

“My issue with Amendment 2 is the funding mechanism. I don’t believe that public school dollars should be sent to the private sector to where they can spend it however they choose and not be accountable to us as taxpayers. That is my issue with this amendment. I have no issue with private schools. I support them every single day. But the funding mechanism is what creates the problem that will further marginalize our marginalized communities,” Coleman said…
