Augusta City Administrator presents bare bones 2025 budget recommendation to commission

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – Tameka Allen has been City Administrator for 35 days and most of those days she’s been dealing with the city’s response to Hurricane Helene. Today, she presented a no-frills budget for 2025.

“It is a very bare bones budget. I think it’s time for us to start building our foundation again. As I presented it to our governing body, we’re going to have some tough decisions to make,” Allen said.

Sheriff Elect Eugene Brantley is requesting a $5.3 million dollar increase for next year to increase deputy pay. For many commissioners, helping public safety is a budget priority…
