DURHAM, N.C. – Backed by three first-half goals, No. 5 Duke men’s soccer (9-2-4) defeated Longwood (4-9-2), 4-1, on Tuesday evening at Koskinen Stadium.
In the 17th minute, junior Drew Kerr opened the tally for the Blue Devils, receiving a pass from Luke Thomas and finishing it into the bottom left corner of the net for a 1-0 advantage. Thomas then played a ball through the front of the goal, as Adam Luckhurst notched his 10th tally of the season to double the lead.
Graduate Colton Pleasants added to the Duke tally in the first half, receiving a pass from Ulfur Bjornsson and Kerr to increase the Blue Devils lead to 3-0. At the half, Duke outshot the Lancers 8-0 and 3-0 on frame, while also holding all five corners attempted…
