West Chester Twp. police officer indicted for tampering and misuse of data base

A former West Chester police officer has been indicted by a Butler County grand jury on felony charges alleging she tampered with evidence in a death investigation and misused police equipment, according to prosecutors.

Michelle Berling is facing two counts of tampering with evidence and one count of tampering with records, all third-degree felonies and unauthorized use of property, a fifth-degree felony. The alleged crimes occurred between Aug. 8 and Aug. 13, according to the grand jury report. The indictment comes after a BCI investigation.
