Magnolia Mall cracks down on unescorted minors

FLORENCE, S.C. – As the holiday shopping season approaches Florence’s Magnolia Mall will crack down on unsupervised teens.

“In an effort to create a safer and more comfortable shopping environment for all visitors, Magnolia Mall is implementing a new Parental Supervision Policy effective Nov. 1, 2024,” mall management said through a release on the new policy. “This proactive measure is designed to address concerns raised by both shoppers and local authorities about unsupervised minors gathering in large groups, which can sometimes disrupt the shopping experience.”

Beginning November 1, 2024, minors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is 21 years or older during the mall’s peak hours of operation. The policy will apply Monday-Saturday from 5 p.m. to closing, and Sunday from 3 p.m. to closing…
