In an effort to “rightsize” its staff, Barton College has eliminated some positions and added others as it addresses anticipated decreases in college enrollment in the coming years.
“Barton is being proactive and prudent in its business practices to strengthen our position in shifting markets,” said Doug Searcy, president of Barton College. “Six positions were eliminated and five transitioned from full time to part time. During this same period, a faculty member in the sciences has been hired, as well as a technology specialist. The rightsizing process is redirecting resources to areas that best serve student and campus needs.”
