One man is dead and another in hospital with critical injuries after two semi tractor-trailers collided in Dundee Township Tuesday morning.
At approximately 7:39am Tuesday, Kany County Sherrif’s deputies were summoned to the intersection of Miller Road and Route 31 where they found one semi, a Freightliner, on the shoulder of the roadway and another, a Mack, in a field just east of Route 31. The deputies found that the driver of the Freightliner had suffered severe injuries and rendered life-saving measures, but were unable to overcome the injuries sustained. The driver, whose name is being withheld pending notification of family members, was pronounced deceased on the scene.
The driver of the Mack semi, identified as 60-year-old David Ortiz of Streamwood, also suffered significant injuries and was transported to Advocate Sherman Hospital with critical injuries…
