‘I killed Abby and Libby’: Jurors hear about Richard Allen’s confessions, bizarre behavior

DELPHI, Ind. ― Jurors in the Delphi double-murder trial heard from a prison psychologist who testified Wednesday that Richard Allen confessed to her multiple times about killing Abigail “Abby” Williams and Liberty “Libby” German while he was on suicide watch at Westville Correctional Facility .

At the same time, Dr. Monica Wala told jurors during her hours-long testimony that Allen feigned a series of bizarre behaviors, such as flushing a Bible in the toilet and eating his feces.

Wala is a key witness because she has first-hand knowledge of Allen’s mental state obtained through many one-on-one therapy sessions. She’s also a somewhat controversial witness because she admitted following the case closely on her personal time, even using her access to the prison database to satisfy her curiosity, while she was treating Allen…
