Virginia Beach sheriff’s haunted house donations to go towards nonprofit organization

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Virginia Beach Sheriff’s Office Master Deputy Donald Totty will contribute proceeds from his “VB House of Torment” to a local nonprofit organization.

Taking place in his Kempsville-area home on Oct. 30-31, Totty recently started collecting donations for Connect with a Wish . The nonprofit provides crucial resources and support, empowering children to become positive and productive members of our society.

Totty’s wife, Kayla Totty, connected her husband with Joy Rios, the founder of Connect with a Wish, to inform her that donations would go towards her nonprofit.

“The foster care system in Hampton Roads has many kids in it and what Connect with a Wish does for these kids is just unimaginable,” Totty said. “From helping them out when they first come into foster care, to birthdays, Christmases and many other holidays, they go above and beyond for these children. Even after they turn 18, she continues to help them with independent living items, college items, etc.”…
