Western Kentucky had little issue dispatching Kennesaw State Wednesday night for their latest CUSA victory. The Tops offense totaled 462 yards of offense in the 31-14 result.
Running back Elijah Young ran for 115 yards, while quarterback Caden Veltkamp passed for 276 yards, giving the Tops’ offense a nice balance that head coach Tyson Helton noted postgame.
“I thought we did a good job of really having balance between the run and the pass,” Helton said. “I thought Elijah ran extremely hard. I thought all our backs ran really good. Some big runs, some some physical runs, so it was really good to see our backs run well. And it helped the passing game a lot. We were able to take some deep shots down the field and they were responding to the run. Elijah was really a big part of that.”…
