Watson gets pushback on proposed expansion of felony voting bans

JACKSON, Miss. ( WJTV ) – A recent poll from House Speaker Jason White (R-Miss.) indicated that 68% of Mississippians surveyed support restoring suffrage to people who were previously convicted of some disenfranchising felony offenses. But not everyone agrees.

Voter disenfranchisement is the state of being deprived of a right of privilege, especially the right to vote.
