MADISON, Tenn. (WKRN) — The job market across Tennessee is holding strong, according to economists at the University of Tennessee. In fact, growth continues across Nashville’s suburban areas.
In Madison, a job fair ended Wednesday for the community’s first Sprouts Farmers Market. The store is looking to hire 80 employees, signaling a type of growth that is being seen across the state.

“When I was a kid, Madison was more of a bedroom community,” said Laura Knotts, the president and sole employee for Madison’s Chamber of Commerce. “So, truly suburban, where you lived here, but you didn’t necessarily work here. As we’ve developed, we’ve seen a lot of those places come into our area so you can truly stay here.”
