The Arizona Fall League experience has certainly been a mixed bag for Mets prospects, and it continued that trend in the Scottsdale Scorpions’ 10-6 win on Wednesday. The Mets two offensive prospects who played had good games, but starter Jonathan Pintaro left with the trainer and reliever Dylan Ross continued his dreadful AFL showing.
- LF Drew Gilbert: 1-for-3, 2 BB, R, .812 OPS
- DH Jacob Reimer: 2-for-5, 3B, 2 RBI, .705 OPS
Gilbert now has a whopping 10 walks compared to only five strikeouts in 12 games for Scottsdale. The 10 walks are tied with Reimer for second on the team. Reimer is also second on the team with 10 RBIs in 10 games.
Jett Williams had the night off. He has a .750 OPS in 13 games.
- RHP Jonathan Pintaro (3.48 ERA) 1.1 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 3 K
- RHP Dylan Ross (19.64 ERA) 1 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 1 K
- RHP Saul García (2.84 ERA) 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K
Pintaro has been a great story, going from starting the season with the Glacier Range Riders in Indy Ball to finishing the regular season with a start for the Triple-A Syracuse Mets. Unfortunately, he left with the trainer on Wednesday night after only 45 pitches.
Ross has struggled mightily, but it’s important to remember that due to injury, he entered the AFL with only one professional inning under his belt…
