Traffic thwarts man’s attempt to evade state police on Route 9 in Cromwell

CROMWELL, Conn. (WTNH) — An 18-year-old New Britain man was charged with reckless driving and other offenses after his plan to evade a trooper was thwarted by traffic, according to state police.

Police said a trooper was doing speed enforcement on Route 9 southbound in the area of Exit 27 when they noticed a silver Infiniti Q50 speed by just before noon.

The trooper caught up to the vehicle and clocked it going more than 100 mph in a posted 65 mph zone.
