Officials are celebrating the opening of the first restaurant to set up shop in a new Westchester County city district.
The Halal Guys , a fast-casual franchise, celebrated its grand opening in New Rochelle at 23 Lecount Pl. on Friday, Oct. 25 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the city’s Chamber of Commerce.

The restaurant serves authentic halal food like chicken, gyro, and falafel platters and is the first to open in New Rochelle’s newly-created “Vanguard District,” an area focused around Anderson Plaza and bounded by North Avenue, LeCount Place, Main Street, and Huguenot Street.
