A dog in Texas is slowly transforming — both physically and emotionally — after suffering from some painful conditions.
When young Trixie was first brought into the Gulf Coast Humane Society after being transferred from another shelter, her fur was matted and had an abundance of dead skin. She was barely recognizable and in pain due to neglect, the shelter said in an Oct. 21 Facebook post . ( Warning: Some of the images in the attached link are disturbing. )
“When Trixie first arrived, her condition spoke to a story of hardship no dog should have to face. Her skin was painfully raw, hairless, with patches matted beyond hope,” the shelter, which is located in Corpus Christi, said in an updated Oct. 30 post.
“She was uncomfortable and in need of immediate help. But because of your kindness and generosity, Trixie has already come so far.”…
