Court sets trial for driver accused in deadly I-41 crash linked to texting

APPLETON (WLUK) – A man who admittedly was texting while driving on I-41 didn’t see traffic slowing down, killing one person in the resulting crash, was ordered Thursday to stand trial.

Bailey Laux, 25, of Kaukauna, was charged with homicide by negligent operation of a vehicle for the May 3, 2022 crash which killed Chelsey Jennings, 33.

Laux was ordered to stand trial after a preliminary hearing Thursday. An arraignment is scheduled for Nov. 18, court records show…
