An arrest has been made in connection with a sexual assault investigation involving a 17-year-old and an active-duty Marine Corps recruiter in Sunnyvale. The Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety has reported the arrest of Jorge Lara-Pedroza following allegations of assault that took place at a Marine Corps recruiting center located on S. Mary Ave. The incident is reported to have occurred on Monday.
According to the information disclosed, the suspect had initially met the young victim during a school recruiting event. About a week later, on Monday, the victim visited the recruiting center to explore further opportunities within the Marine Corps. It was during this meeting that Lara-Pedroza allegedly assaulted the minor. Following the incident, he was arrested on Tuesday and is facing serious charges, which, as reported by the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety, include “oral copulation, penetration with a foreign object, and arranging to meet with a minor with the intent to engage in sexual conduct.”…
