Neighbors concerned with trash dumping after two bodies found burned in car near Birmingham airport

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Illegal dumping in one Birmingham neighborhood is causing a headache for some residents. The trash in an Airport Highlands neighborhood has been piling up for quite some time. Residents told WVTM 13 this is an issue they’ve been dealing with for 20 years.

Airport Highlands Neighborhood Association president Chris Evans said the trash along 89th Place North is so bad he avoids driving down the street. With the two bodies found, he’s asking for help to clean it up and hopes that discourages others from dumping their trash.

“Really, we’ve been complaining about burning cars out here,” Evans said. “It’s true, and we’ve been telling them if you don’t block the roads off and do something, you’ll probably end up finding bodies out here. It’s quite sad because someone’s loved ones are gone regardless of what they’ve done.”…
