WEST CHESTER, PA — In the early morning hours of October 20, 2024, a routine police response to a disturbance in West Chester Borough led to the arrest of a Wilmington, Delaware resident with an outstanding warrant. The West Chester Borough Police Department was summoned to the intersection of East Market Street and South Matlack Street just after midnight to address a reported altercation between individuals.
Upon arrival, officers were able to de-escalate the verbal confrontation and identified one of the involved parties as 45-year-old Irvin Lewis. A subsequent records check disclosed a standing warrant for Lewis from the Wilmington Police Department, where he faces allegations of aggravated assault involving a weapon.
Acting on this information, West Chester police took Lewis into custody without any further incident. He was subsequently transported to Chester County Prison, where he will remain as he awaits transfer back to Delaware to face the alleged charges…
