Thomas “Allen” Yeager, 70, of Frederick, Md. and DeRidder, La., peacefully departed his earthly home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2024, at 11:10 a.m. Allen was born on July 18, 1954. After graduating from Linganore High School, he earned a bachelor’s degree and proudly served his country. Allen joined the Army for four years and later served eight years in the Navy during the Persian Gulf War aboard the U.S.S. Elliot. He took great pride in his military service and often wished he could have served longer. After his military career, Allen held various civilian jobs before retiring. He worked at Wal-Mart in DeRidder and was a highly skilled military vehicle mechanic on Fort Polk Army base.
Allen was a devoted husband to his wife of 23 years, Shelly Biser Dial Yeager. They were married on Oct. 31, 2001, in Las Vegas, Nev., and honeymooned at the Mirage, where they enjoyed Siegfried and Roy’s beautiful white tiger show.
Allen had many passions. He loved fishing, rock music, reading on his Kindle, and painting landscapes. A lifelong fan of the Baltimore Ravens and the Baltimore Orioles, he also enjoyed playing football and baseball video games.
