Well, folks, Orkin has released the 2024 rankings for the Rattiest Cities in America, and let’s just say some Michigan cities, three to be precise, have some cheese to buy and traps to set. Once again, our neighbors to the southwest have locked up the top spot for the tenth year in a row.
That’s right, Chicago is once again America’s rat kingdom. But hey, we Michiganders also have a little skin, or fur, in the game. Let’s look at the three Mitten State metros that landed on the list.
Three Michigan Cities Among Orkins 2024 Rattiest Cities in America
Detroit, the ever-resilient Motor City, crawled in the wrong direction in Orkin’s 2024 rankings of the 50 Rattiest Cities in America. In 2023, Motown was America’s 9th most rat-infested city, and this year, it moved up.
Grand Rapids also makes an appearance in this year’s top 50, but it moved up on the list, which means it’s improved rodent control since being ranked America’s 25th most rat-infested city in 2023.
The same can’t be said for the Michigan city that landed in the 43rd spot in the rodent rankings in 2023. Based on Orkins 2024, Flint has seen an increase in rat-related calls and, thus, moved up higher in this year’s rankings…
