Albany, NY (WRGB) — A former Troy City Councilwoman will serve no jail time in a federal ballot fraud case related to the 2021 election, in which she won re-election.
Kimberly Ashe-McPherson was sentenced Friday morning to one year probation and a fine of $1,500 due immediately. In June 2022. she pleaded guilty to one count of identity theft and agreed to resign from Troy City Council.
In her plea, Ashe-McPherson admitted to unlawfully casting an absentee ballot in someone else’s name for the 2021 primary election, and again casting ballots in two people’s names in the general election…
