BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) – A 128-year-old record high in Morgantown was broken by 2 degrees on Thursday. While the last record high for Elkins only occurred in 2019, the new record was set on Halloween by 4 degrees. Many locations soared into the 80s with the help of strong winds from the south. Over the next 7 days, our temperatures will be above average. Another chance to set records will come on Tuesday ahead of the next storm system. As for today look for rain to exit the mountains just before noon. This will be followed by a good deal of sunshine breaking free of the clouds.
