Tennessee Tech University will host a live video chat with NASA astronaut, university trustee and alumnus Barry “Butch” Wilmore from the International Space Station on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 11:20 a.m. in the Multipurpose Room of the Roaden University Center on Tech’s campus. Doors will open at 11 a.m. The event is free and open to the community.
During the live chat, Tech students will be able to ask questions of Wilmore and learn about his and fellow astronaut Suni Williams’ historic mission. While the public will not have an opportunity to ask questions, all are invited to attend to show their support. Refreshments will be served, and free commemorative posters and stickers will be available while supplies last. The conversation will air live on NASA+ and will be shared afterward on the agency’s digital platforms.
The event marks the second video chat Wilmore has hosted with Tech since his mission began. In June, he participated in a question-and-answer session with the children of Tech faculty and staff and jokingly declared it “Tennessee Tech Day” at the ISS. Before his launch, Wilmore previewed the video chat in a conversation with reporters, calling Tech “the finest university in the nation.”…
