Illinois Is Home To The World’s Largest Slice Of Pizza
For as long as I can remember, pizza has been my favorite food. I grew up in the Chicago suburbs so there were many mom-and-pop pizza joints a short bike ride away from my parent’s house. They offered a slice and drink special for just a couple of bucks.
My friends and I would hit those all the time. We knew which places had the tastiest pizza for the cheapest deal. There were a couple of places that had slices that were so big it was like a third of the pizza. Of course, they bragged about having the biggest.
Unfortunately, most of those places are gone now. In fact, it’s hard to even find a pizza joint that serves slices let alone having one of those lunch deals. The last time I went into the burbs to see my mom, I was searching to see if there were any by her house.
