DESTIN, Fla. ( WKRG ) — A Texas man was arrested after he allegedly held a knife to a woman’s throat and threatened to kill her, according to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.

According to an OCSO news release, 58-year-old Paul Besinger was arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon after an incident that happened on Oct. 31 in the area of 300 Mountain Drive in Destin.
The victim allegedly told deputies that Besinger approached her from behind and grabbed her by the hair before putting the knife to her neck. During the incident, Besinger was yelling that he was going to kill the woman, according to OCSO officials.

Officials said the victim was able to break away from the man and ran while screaming for help before a witness put himself between the woman and Besinger.
A deputy arrived and stopped Besinger at gunpoint before taking him to the Okaloosa County Jail, according to the release.
While in the deputy’s patrol vehicle, Besinger allegedly said, “I’m glad I didn’t kill her.”…
