ODESSA, Texas (KMID/KPEJ) – In this week’s Basin Bites, we visit Taboo, a Mexican restaurant in Odessa that went from a high-end establishment to a place that makes you feel like you’re on vacation.

As soon as you step foot in Taboo you feel the energy and ambiance of the restaurant. From the decorations and theme around to the music playing as well as the bar you don’t feel like in your West Texas anymore.
“This project started with a couple of friends,” says Manager Otoniel Rodriguez. “We thought that we wanted to bring something different something that was exclusive and this was the idea we came with. I want people to come here and think this restaurant is nice and feel the ambiance”
The way that Rodriguez explained the name is that the meaning taboo is something you can’t do, something that is private. They see how other establishments specialize in certain areas, whereas Taboo specializes in multiple facets…
