After a disappointing 2023-24 season, many felt that Klay Thompson’ s prime was over. Still, the 34-year-old has been solid in his first five games with the Dallas Mavericks, averaging 15.6 points on 38.8 percent from three.
That said, the “Splash Brother” is no longer perceived as an NBA star, nor does he make money some of the league’s best make. But according to Gilbert Arenas , that shouldn’t be the case.
Arenas feels bad for Thompson
During each of the Warriors’ title-winning seasons, Klay was a consistent 20+ point scorer. However, his average dropped to 17.9 points per game in 2023-24—the lowest since the 2012-13 season—on 38.7 percent from beyond the arc, which was also the second-lowest in his career.
