More — and hugely needed — affordable housing has arrived in the city of Corvallis, 84 units of it, to be exact.
Rivergreen Landing Apartments, located in South Corvallis, features a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom units, which will be available to those earning at or below 30% and 60% of the area median income, or AMI.
In Corvallis, a family of four earning 60% AMI means they have an income of $64,800, according to Housing and Neighborhood Services Manager Brigetta Olson. A family of four earning 30% AMI, likewise, would have an income of $32,400.
The energy was joyous — and even emotional — at a grand opening for the housing complex on Wednesday, Oct. 30. A host of project partners were in attendance, with a handful giving celebratory speeches.
