MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — West Virginia University football head coach Neal Brown made his first public comments since he relieved defensive coordinator Jordan Lesley of his duties on the latest episode of The Neal Brown Show.
Brown announced Tuesday that Lesley will be replaced as the team’s defensive coordinator by inside linebackers coach and special teams coordinator Jeff Koonz.
“Very thankful to Jordan [Lesley] and his family for all their contributions,” Brown said on The Neal Brown Show. “You know, Jordan and I worked together 10-plus years, and he’s been the defensive coordinator here going back to 2020. We played really good defense in ’20-21, struggled in ’22, [but] I thought we bounced back last year and did some really nice things in ’23, and we’ve just been up and down.”…
